Travel Information
Flight
Each delegate/delegation is responsible for making their own travel arrangements immediately after confirming attendance and receiving country assignments. Booking flights early is highly recommended, as this guarantees better prices. However, all delegates/delegations are required to arrange and secure accommodation before booking their flights.
GIMUN 2026 delegates/delegations may also rely on the support of their Institutions, MUN Associations, or Youth Groups to organize their trips.
Visa Issues
Before making any travel arrangements, each delegate must inquire about visa requirements.
Delegates are advised to consult the Ghana Immigration Service via
https://home.gis.gov.gh/
to determine whether a travel visa is required and to obtain instructions on the application process.
Each delegate is responsible for handling his/her own visa application. However, the GIMUN Secretariat is available to provide official invitation letters to delegates who require assistance to facilitate their visa application.
Requesting an Invitation Letter
To request an invitation letter, please contact the GIMUN Secretariat at gimun@prepandpave.org well in advance of your visa appointment at the Ghana High Commission. Kindly allow at least five (5) business days for a response.
All interested Institutions, MUN Associations, Youth Groups, individual students, and youth must register for the Ghana International Model United Nations and confirm their participation by paying the full participation fee no later than 10th June, 2026. Please note that no invitation letter will be issued until the full conference participation fee has been paid.
Requests from Institutions, MUN Associations, or Youth Groups must be submitted only by the Head of Delegation and must include the following details for all members of the delegation from the same institution or group:
-
Full names of participants
-
Dates of birth
-
Countries of citizenship
-
Passport numbers
-
Passport expiration dates
Due to the high volume of requests received by the GIMUN Secretariat, only one invitation letter per Institution/MUN Association/Youth Group will be issued, listing the names of all delegates included.
